STRUCTURAL DESIGNER

Are you a talented Structural Designer looking for an exciting new opportunity? We're on the hunt for someone just like you to join our team! As a Structural Designer, you'll get to work on a variety of challenging projects ranging from buildings to industrial facilities. You'll collaborate closely with team members to ensure that our structures are not only safe and efficient but also innovative and practical. [ a day in the life of a structural designer at co-elevate ]

  • Attend a stand-up meeting with your scrum team to discuss yesterday’s challenges and plan for the day’s tasks

  • Design structures in various building materials such as steel, concrete, timber, and masonry

  • Run calculations under the supervision of a Professional Engineer to size elements or determine structural adequacy

  • A daily break for a game of table tennis or foosball (if inclined)

  • Attend one of coelevate’s group events such as potlucks, lunch & learns, book club, etc.

  • Participate in one of coelevate’s charity causes such as blood drives, toy drives, food drives, or seasonal in-house charity events

  • Help prepare engineering documents for the design of structural systems.

  • Coordinate design activities with other disciplines (architectural, civil, mechanical, electrical, etc.)

  • Prepare technical specifications, documents, and reports

  • Occasional site work as required

  • Other duties as assigned/required

  • At the end of the day, it is commonplace for our leadership to send staff members home to ensure work-life balance

[ what we are looking for in a structural designer ]

  • ​Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering from a Canadian accredited program

  • Working knowledge of applicable Canadian Standards and Codes (OBC, NBC, CSA Standards, etc.)

  • Working knowledge of structural analysis software such as ETABS, SAFE, and RISA3D

  • Ability to read drawings

  • Intermediate knowledge of MS Office

  • Creativity and innovation in finding solutions

  • Availability for occasional travel to client sites

  • Eligible for future registration with PEO

  • Willing to work in-office (London, ON)
