OUR HISTORY

Our humble story begins in 1973 when, under the banner of Fred Gray & Associates, Fred Gray founded what was to become co‑elevate. Fred promised to always design his buildings in the most cost-effective and efficient manner. In keeping with Fred's vision co‑elevate still pledges to deliver economical and practical design solutions.

Bill Fick joined Fred in 1985 and became a partner of the firm six years later. At that point, the firm changed its name to Gray & Fick. Bill's priority turned to developing a team of close-knit collaborative industry experts. While continuing to promote excellence in engineering, Bill also made sure the team had ample opportunities to bond and give back to the community. Our strong and vibrant culture is still influenced by these traditions.

Steve Desjardine joined Gray & Fick in 1999 and became partner one year later. Steve made it possible for Bill to focus on the craft of engineering while he oversaw the drawing development department. Steve and Bill made a formidable one-two punch that continued our already strong tradition of excellence.

Now as co‑elevate, our company has matured beyond the leadership of any one or two individuals. The company has grown into a medium-sized firm that benefits from the expertise of its practical, hands-on industry experts.
